The 2015 Symposium

The 2015 Annual Symposium was held during October, 2015. It featured a Responsible Conduct of Research presentation by Drs. Cathie Martin (former Editor in Chief of The Plant Cell) and Christoph Benning, Editor in Chief of Plant Journal); a morning career session with talks by former AAAS Fellows Melissa Ho and Marcello Vinces; 10 science talks from highly accomplished researchers in private, government and university Plant Biotechnology institutions.

We thank our out of town and local speakers - including former MSU trainees, round table discussion leaders and graduate trainees for making this such a successful event.

This Symposium is part of an interdisciplinary effort at MSU to develop training opportunities for graduate students in plant biotechnology. The goal of the symposium series is to provide students and other scientists at MSU with a broad overview of the state-of-the-art of plant biotechnology and related fields. Special emphasis is placed on plant metabolic pathways that impact human health and nutrition, as well as sustainability in the production of food and fuels from plants and microbes.
