About Internships

Do an internship!
Helping our trainees achieve a broad and deep understanding of biotechnology and its applications to plant and microbial sciences is a core goal for the PBHS program at MSU. To help  achieve this goal, all NIH funded fellows are required to do an 8-10 week long internship at a commercial, not for profit, or governmental organization. These must occur during the fellowship funding period, typically in the summer between first and second or second and third year. Other trainees are encouraged to do an internship and the Executive Committee and Trainers will work with all interested parties to try to identify a great match to your interests.

The organizations that have been identified range from venture capital and small start ups to large and well established companies in the US and Europe. For the most up to date list of organizations please click here.
